Pallet Networks
Invented thirty years ago, pallet networks have transformed the movement of pallets in the UK.
Eight networks now dominate the market for next-day small consignment delivery of pallets, moving over 100,000 pallets every night. The Hazchem Network was founded in 2004 as the pallet network for chemicals. We are the only UK network for ADR.
Administration
Members communicate via a bespoke Vigo hub-interface in the cloud, with built-in resilience and back-up.
This enables full barcode-control of pallets, online customer portal access and track-and-trace facilities. Robert Symes heads up a central team of day and night operatives plus customer service, IT and accounts/ admin. There is full compliance back-up: Robert is a safety professional & chemistry graduate and there are further DGSAs on staff.
The Hub
In 2019 the Hazchem purchased its 10 acre freehold site in the middle of the country at Hinckley.
This has been adapted for its exclusive use as a central ADR-compliant hub. The main 150,000sf central hall receives up to 100 inbound trunks each night, despatching the same back to the regions in the early hours. The hub is the centre of a hub-and-spoke system reaching every part of the country – at >98% OTIF, day in, day out.
The Members
Hazchem has 60 haulier members.
These are responsible for looking after end customers and delivering all stock. Only members can input pallets into the Hazchem hub. The hub uses its financial strength to back these up, ensuring all bills are paid and no service gaps ever appear. Our members are all 100% ADR compliant and are always among the leading transport companies in their regions. Delivering chemicals requires adherence to the highest standards.
