Knowing the potential for a chemical to cause harm either to people or the environment is fundamental to the design of much of the current chemical legislation on how to supply, use and transport chemicals safely.

The process that identifies the ways chemicals can cause harm in the transport chain –  is called CLASSIFICATION.

Along with complementary non-hazardous goods The Hazchem Network accepts the following chemical classes through its hub.

  • Class 2.1 Flammable gas
  • Class 2.2 Non-flammable & non-toxic gas
  • Class 2.3 Toxic gas
  • Class 3 Flammable liquids
  • Class 4.1 Flammable solids (excluding Class 4.1 with class 1 explosive secondary hazard)
  • Class 4.2 Spontaneously combustible product

  • Class 5.2 Organic peroxides (excluding temperature controlled/with class 1 secondary hazard)
