Motor Transport Awards 2017

07 July 2017

Our Managing Director attended this yearís Motor Transport Awards 2017 as one of the judges on the committee, as he has been involved with Motor Transport and Commercial Motor for many years; and served in the 2015 and 2016 evaluation process.

The MT Awards are the premier event in the UK logistics calendar, hosted by Londonís Grosvenor House in Park Lane; for not only do they celebrate the best in the UK Road Logistics sector but also an excellent opportunity to meet up with colleagues and friends in a convivial atmosphere.

When working in transport, our communication is often skewered to the resolution of problems and planning ahead; so an opportunity to talk about our work and lives with colleagues away from the office or truck, should be celebrated.

This year, the Master of Ceremonies was John Bishop, aided by Gabby Logan and overseen by Motor Transportís Editor Steve Hobson.

Following the meal, John Bishop entertained us and then started the awards process, for which Safety in Operation was the first category which we recorded here for you >

One important aspect of the Motor Transport Awards evening is the charity the team sponsor Ė Transaid, with the late night charity casino which is great fun, and all money for the chips is passed to this important charity.

We were delighted to hear that Transid generated £24,427 from last nightís Motor Transport Awards.

We would urge you to visit www.transaid.org to help support those less fortunate in the developing world, because we can all make a difference to the lives of others.

So after a very late night, it was time to say thank you to the Motor Transport team, The Sponsors and the Transaid team - for a splendid event, as well as saying our farewells to our friends and colleagues, until next year.
