Update on Harry Spavin

28 January 2016

You may be aware that Hazchem Network [amongst others] sponsors young Harry Spavin in his water-skiing endeavours; so we’d like to share an update about what Harry’s been up to.

This is from Rob Spavin, Managing Director of Hazchem Depot 063 Spavin City Express.

Since the end of September Harry’s winter training has been off-water, mainly gym work and flexibility training, cycling and also rock climbing. This has helped to heal the injury from last year [coupled to a continued physiotherapy program].

But the skis have indeed been out in 2016 at Hazelwoods Ski World, Lincoln; where on-water training has begun for the season ahead. Harry has 9 weeks on-water training to complete in preparation for some warm water training

Harry travels to Florida for 3 weeks during Easter to kick start the 2016 season.

In December 2015 the U21 World Rankings confirmed  Harry was placed  8th  in the Jump event -  achieved when he was still only 17.

We look forward to this season and hope to improve on the impressive 1st year U21 scores from 2015. We have major National events planned for what looks like a busy season ahead and also

Harry has a confirmed place in the GB U21 team travelling to the European championships in Norway in July, and also a team place in the World University games to be held in Japan in September

A provisional place in the Open team to compete in the European Open Ski Championships in Spain in September

There also appears to be some unfinished business from last year; Harrys longest jump of 2015 was 59.7m, which although was a very good distance, it was tantalising close to both the 60m marker and the magical 200 ft barrier (60.8m) which are both considered "serious " jump distances

Hazchem Network wish young Harry Spavin a rewarding 2016.
